The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an area of growth for bidet and washlet toilet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure the future generations would be able to read the words. However, many words were being replaced by foreign words, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Toto's early history, which began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's rapid economic growth. In the early years of its existence, the company produced products to meet the demand for modern and contemporary urban housing. It was the first tunnel kilns in the country to continuously produce ceramics. It also pioneered automation to allow production control, which helps to increase efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding internationally in the late 1980s to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company created the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other products of other manufacturers in order to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the market share of the company globally.
In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development for household appliances that are water-related. It also improved its distribution system to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company adopted a just-in-time approach to supply chain management and applied the same approach in its sales program. This resulted in a higher level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto continued to develop toilet technology. Its latest toilet has a strong, eco-friendly tornado flush. Toto uses recycled water in its manufacturing process, and also has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets, Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more energy efficient than typical models.
The first museum of the company was opened in the year 2015, and it has exhibitions on Toto's seminal products and their development and its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the historical background of plumbing and products like bath units and, in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum houses the bathroom equipped with a WASHLET and other toilet innovations.
Before the formation of Toto, members of the band did sessions for a variety of musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
You might expect a band with a name such as Asia to be a prog rock band, but it is actually a relatively straightforward rock group. The band began as a four-piece and released two albums in 1979, the self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a diverse musical background, their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, but not without its own set of issues. Record companies put the band on place with the directive "give us a hit record or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on them to deliver. Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the smash hit "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their previous experiences, as the band members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior to forming the group. Their distinctive sound has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into you. However, the album also includes some slower, more jazzy tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. 토토사이트 모음 concludes with Great Expectations. This song mixes folk and the distorted AOR which could seem like a complete blunder, but works extremely well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The band managed to release an album that was chart-topping, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was also the first to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet format of the previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort that had an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's improved virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex, and less derivative on previous efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album followed shortly after, and the group went on an extensive world tour in support of the album. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old tapes and demos for a new record featuring songs that were never recorded before. It was completed in 2001 and released as a double album titled Then & Now. It was the first album by the band without a single song titled "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which limited his singing ability. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes and the other members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the group. This lineup, minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
