Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also boost its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they are upgraded.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player has to select it, and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the required component or material needed to complete the upgrade.
There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance the addition of a Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level, but the required materials don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of these items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
If an item is completed, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes available for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.
Engineers may utilize a level to compare the height of the building against an established point, like an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important element of the game and can boost the damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in rare cases.
item upgrades allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.
The game also features a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a great way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be of different sizes, contain no elements, or only contain one element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways such as size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.
Certain set items are upgraded for their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in some builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to the level of the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
